We are a group of private citizens whose goal is to promote government by and for the people. Our founder is Jay McClelland, a US citizen who lives in Palo Alto, California. Jay is the son of parents who believed in the importance of education and public engagement. Jay’s father served in the US Foreign Service, with posts in England and many countries in the Middle East, and Jay’s mother was a childhood educator who created a day care center in Washington, DC in the 1960’s. Growing up in this context, Jay learned to appreciate the vast disparities among individuals in their beliefs, their aspirations, and their opportunities. He has sought throughout his adult life to understand human nature. Currently, Jay is a professor at Stanford University and a consultant at Google DeepMind. As a citizen, his primary goal is to promote government by and for everyone, in the United States and throughout the world.
